This is a complete noob question i feel like, but i need some help! i got some doors today to replace mine for real cheap. not paying much attention i didnt notice the small difference in them:doah:, these new ones dont have a rounded front corner above the vent window. it make a 45 angle and comes to a straight point...my question is, can i just grind it down to fit my door frame? or do i need to just sell them?

It always sounds like he got some inexpensive aftermarket doors where the edging isn't all the way folded over.

im working on postin the pic now but i think they were suppose to have come off of a truck. not sure though

My doors on the suburban are rounded. So were the ones on my Crewcab. And my 84 K30(single cab).

i know everything will line up for that one edge...so you think i could just cut that edge off or maybe grind it down?

You could, but you'd have to weld up the inner and outer skins back together. If you do this, just use your existing door as a pattern

The problem is those are '70s era Dodge doors...

Never seen a square corner like that, or a vent window pivot like that on any 73-87 GM door.

You can see both the square corner and a similar vent window pivot in this pic of a '78 dodge pick-up.

my 1st couple chevy pickup late 70s early 80s 3/4tons had vent windows like that. I don't ever recall a sharp corner like that though.

see the hinge there sort of. same one you got I'm pretty sure.

It's still different than GM...and the body style above the window is most definitely not 73-87 GM. I'd put hard earned money down that it's a dodge door (or Doors) and I could see it being a somewhat easy mistake to make if the doors were already off the truck.

None have that vent pivot style shown, and more importantly none have that same rolled section at the top. The GM doors feature above the door glass is much sharper and flatter...and of course the GM doors don't have a sharp corner up there either.

As you can see i have a good cross section close at hand...lol. It's a sickness. I have 6 rear doors too. :haha:

I could make one hell of an ugly limo.
