My driver door drags on the striker bolt when closing it. Any one know how to level it out? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

thats a good question, my passenger side door sags down a little, i always have to yell at people to slam it, no body seems to every close it all the way on the first try.

I replaced the bushings on the striker bolts and it took care of the pass. door but the driver door still sags, dont know if its the hinge pins or if I need to loosen the hinge bolts, lift door and re-tighten.

you can buy new bushing kits for the hinges which can help from napa for like $6.00 per hinge if i remember right

or try the easy way with out taking the door off????
on the bottom hinge put 3/8 washers between the door and the hinge on the bolts it takes between two and three
on each bolt or if you have some fender shim's laying around
they work better than taking the bolts out you want the
pics and it closes great /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I also put small hose clamps on the hinge pin to keep the bushings from working their way out when they get worn. It works real good.

If your bushings work their way out the door will sag quite a bit. That is the problem with almost all gm door sag I have ever seen.

The hose clamps are a real quick fix that last a long time.

Also look into moving the striker up or down. I doubt thats the problem but it could be...
