I noticed in the LMC catalog that there are seals listed for the door itself, which mate with the door frame, and there is of course the large seal that all trucks have installed on the pinch weld of the door frame.
I looked at my '87 K5 which appears to be stock in almost all aspects, and it doesn't have those door-side seals.
Searching here I got a million results, but didn't quickly find a post talking about what trucks/vintage got both seals, and which got just the pinch weld seal.
What is the scoop on this "additional" seal? My truck "leaks" air past the upper corners of the pinch weld seal on the freeway, it would be nice to get rid of that if possible with the addition of another factory seal. Obviously some of that is simply door/seal alignment, but I am curious as to why that second seal was apparently sometimes used.
Was that seal used on trucks without a drip rail perhaps?
