So my Jimmy came to me with booty fab hacked up front door holes for 6x9's. Of course the holes are too big so the speakers don't seal well. Eventually ($$), I plan on replacing the doors and moving speakers, but for now what can I do to minimize the rattle and maximize the quality?

3/4" mdf wood plates. make them what ever size and shape you want to cover the hole then cut the hole you need. you can paint or cover them in the color or material of your choice.

I put some 6" speakers in each door and separate tweeters. I must stay, it really sounds great! With the tweeters in the doors rather than the dash, the sound stage is so much better. Having the highs bounce off the windshield makes it less than desireable so I like the door method myself.

I used a mdf piece of wood and created a spacer ring and covered it with matching felt. Looks pretty clean and I've done it a few times now.

In the rear, I have 6x9's mounted on the sides as filler. Does a decent job rounding everthing out.
