Quick question. 1992 Chevy Silverado 4x4. I replaced the door pin bushings on the drivers side door this weekend but could not for the world of me get the spring that is installed in one of the hinges. Is their a trick to reinstalling these? Was working w/ limited tools at the time of install so we left it out for the moment. I was thinking of compressing the spring in a vice and wrapping it w/ something that will hold it long enough to remove and put in the door hinge real quick....

Due to the shortness of the spring and the gauge of it along w/ the tight spacing of the coils on it was making it very hard to compress it w/ anything. Usually I just use a pair of pliers along w/ a big screwdriver and door springs just pop right in....

Awesome!! Thanx, the picture of the tool is plenty. I can fab something of similar design that will be functional enough for me.
