Had my door spring snap (bar spring, not coil spring) so I welded it but can’t seem to sneak it back in there. Is that even possible or does the door have to come off?

It's a mfer but I done it on the driver upper. If I remember correctly, I got it in place but too high and tapped it down.

Well I got at it today and got it in! Woohoo. It was a bugger though. I put the upper part in place and let it drop down lower than where it normally sits, then used an oversized flathead screwdriver to turn the lower in line with its slot, then while keeping it aligned I used a balpeen hammer to tap it up into place. I tested the spring before putting it back but man will I be pissed if my weld breaks. LOL
