I'm I need of a door jamb vin tag. It's for my 79 jimmy. I bought the truck and it didn't have one. Its was restored and never replaced. Thought I would need it when it get plates. Wouldn't think it has to be an exact replacement. Maybe someone could take a picture of there's. Then I could try to find one that looks alike and where I can get one.

Thanks

that year should be vin in the dash pad left side by the A-piller .

be care full asking for stuff like this in public also .

You don't need it, well, you shouldn't need it. Unless you are doing a concourse restoration? :dunno: They were tough to get when they were new (collision replacement) and impossible to get now. Unless you can have one made at a decal place.

The VIN tag on the dash is the important one and the one you need to have in place.

No worries everything is legal. My 77 gmc truck has No das vin my 79 does. But the 79 should have more info in the door jamb. Like weights and vin. Thank for your help. Just wanted to check. Buoght from out of state and want to make sure its up to inspection. Its all kind of stupid how the dmv's handle older vehicles.previous owner removed then when he restored it and didn't glue them back on
