Its crazy all my life I have wrenched on chevys. I have NO IDEA how to change the door windows. Never had to do it I guess. Someone wanna tune me in and tell me how to change it? My red 83 k20 has better doors than my crew cab, but the driver window somehow got broke. Also will a 79 window fit in a 83 door?

It's been a while since I replaced the window in my Burb, but here goes. The glass was totally shattered in my door so removal was pretty easy once I got the door panel off. The winodw regulator will have to be rolled down. You will need to remove the wing window...there's a couple bolts in the door and two screws in the frame. Once the wing window is out the door window should slide forward a bit and will come off the regulator. Hope this helps.

a chilton or haynes manual probably has the procedure. i'm at work so i can't look at mine at the moment. my guess is that you have to remove the inside panel, stick your arm and tool in a ridiculously small hole, detatch the window from the raise/lower assembly and then pull the window out the top at a funky angle to keep it from sliding into the normal track. then you probably do it all in reverse to put the new one in.

i bet it's pretty unusual for people to want to remove a whole window. most probably just put a new one in after the old one is smashed.

edit: 85burb posted while i was typing. his sounds better.
