is there anyway to make it so doors wont lock and trouble unlocking again, easily? cover eveything in grease inside? i cant wait till summer rolls around so i can lose em again

what do you mean ? mine does something wierd alot i will put my key in and it wont turn but i can push the button in and release it and then turn the key it will unlock, it does that about 50% of the time . is that what your talking about?

sorry i should have been more specific, when its unlocked and i close it(slam it) its fine, i lock it with the key and it unlocks fine but if i close it while the door is locked or drive around with it locked it wont come unlocked. i used to be able to bang on the door and wiggle the key at the same time to get it unlocked but now the driver side door is stuck locked pretty damn good

just dont lock your doors. LOL... other wise replace the lock cylinders. would be my best guess.

its probly the locking tab on the cylender is miss aligned.
just leave it unlocked if they take your truck Iam sure thell bring it back :p:

this weekend ill see if i can get my driver-side door open... should be interesting if i have to go to plan b on that

you back in town domonic?

Door latch problems

I had my drivers door sticking sooo bad after an ice storm that i managed to get in the pass. door , sit on the console , hold the lever back , and kicked with both feet to open it and it wouldnt budge. Being late for work mind you , I got soooo pissed i got out with a tire iron and pryed the door away near the latch( after whaling the crap out of the outside of the door with the iron) :doah: and had to cut the striker bolt off with a sawsall!! And they werent even locked!!! I made sure to use plenty of white lithium grease on the bear claw latch and key cylinder when i put the new door in ! Also try messing with your door hinges to get them to align to the striker bolt a lil better . THere could be pressure on the the latch thats making it not want to unlock . Well thats my 2 Cents hope it helps you , if not makes you laugh !:haha:

Mine does the same exact thing, upon further inspeciton it seems that the button on the handle doesn't come out all the way. I just hit/pound down on the door handle over where the button is. After about three to four good hits I can unlock it just fine. It has worked for me everytime...

ok i got the door open, pried someting in there that the locks connect to and it unlocked but i locked it again and now it wont unlock, luckily its still open but what do i replace?

I have the identical problem. I didn't have the problem when the lock cylinders were in my previous doors but now that I installed them in the new doors about half of the time it wont unlock. It becomes so stiff that the key actually starts to bend/twist. The lock button begins to move but doesn't come up Any ideas?

After a while, even weasel piss(wd-40) and flicking the door knob doesn't get you into your locked rig. Now is the, sigh, time to rip into it and get it fixed.
My project for the weekend.
