i have a set of new GM Doors for a newer K-5. I just got a free K-5 that i was told was late 70's so i thought that i could use the doors. when i took a look at it i saw it is a 73-75. Will the new doors work if i chop them? The whole truck is mostly rust but i have new GM fenders and just picked up some free GM bedsides inner and outer so i have almost a whole new body for the thing.

I dont think they work, but I cant say for sure.
But, a bump to the top for you. Some should answer this soon.

I had a 75 full convert K5 that I had used later doors on from a 78 pick up just chopped the tops of the doors. Was easier to find the non convert doors and chop them then wait for the right ones. Also reused the door glass out of all years 73-87, was rough on glass for some reason :xmas:

They are the same door, just chopped, thats what they did at the factory. You'll need to cut the little re-inforcement that goes on the back top edge where you will cut, out of your old doors. It ties in the door handle bolts, keeps the whole area together, and has the little screw holes to screw the cap into.
There were differences in doors for the door panels, 73-76 is one style, and 77-91 is another. The 77-91 had thier panels go lower on the door than the 73-76 style. You could still install your 73 panels on a new door, and vice versa, you just might have to drill a couple extra holes and might have showing extreranous holes.
