Done, except the switch panel which involves wiring harness fabrication for lights. winch etc. Double Pumper is usable, just have to plug in the on/off wire till switch panel is done. 5-1/2 minutes to get to 100psi from zero on that air tank..........20 gallon?

dude, thats no 20 gallons. thats more like 8 max. i build mini trucks for a living and ive sceen my fair share of airtanks. i like the setup and the idea. but the pumps you got are not 100% duty cycle. and were what 50 bucks a pop. it will work for a while but you should try next time around for some Viair pumps which are 100% duty cycle and are water proof.
that box you have them in will trap too much heat for the pump heads. even with a fan installed.
otherwise it looks awesome.
just trying to help you make a reliable on board air setup.

p.s. i like the PR switch setup. and all i just cant stand seeing no-name pumps bro. and that box.!
later!

ive heard/read somewhere bout guys using ac compressors to make onboard air? anyone rememeber heard of this? i think something like that i would be more interested in. and then just mount a holding tank somewhere.

Thats a fairly common setup using a York 210... do a search for "york" and a pleathora of information can be found on the subject

1100 cfm, 4500 rpm fan, I could lay my hand on the heads when they reached 100psi, I figured it to be a 10 gallon but was told it's a twenty, that's why there's a question mark after the 20.........these pumps are right at 2.54cfm@60psi each, $25.00 each :wink1:

VIAIR 550C Compressor: 380.00
The 550C is a 100% duty cycle continuous duty compressor designed for heavy duty mobile applications. This compressor flows 1.84cfm at 60psi,

Previously I used the pumps this way..........those China crap pumps are bad for the price!!!

Where did you pick up the pressure switch? Do you have any specifics on make/model vendor?

Cool, I may copy you shamelessly some day. What is the deal with the foam blanket - thermal insulation or general protection of the tank?

Aren't those the pumps I got for you? I remember getting 2 pumps for somebody from NC.

Nice setup either way. :waytogo:

It's to make it fit tight between the tailgate and storage box mostly. Doesn't move around at all, and in the event of a roll over, it'll stay in place. :wink1:

Yes Sir............and I thank you again. That was a big favor, buying, packaging and shipping them to me. I'll buy ya dinner when I show up out there for an off-road event.

Update:

I had to move the pressure switch to the tank side of the one way valve. It kicked on and off in the setup that I show in the photos above.

I'll get some photos when I feel better.

Very nice setup AND inexpensive. I like it. Thanks for all the good info. Something like this is on my long list of things to do.

Heres my opportunity to say "THANKS" for the idea. After I read your thread I went straight to Costco (great return policy:deal:) and grabbed a pair (pumps:haha:). I just put mine in a bigger box and stuffed more crap inside:doah:.

Has your system been trouble free so far? Do I need to move my pressure switch:doah:? Saw your blazer in readers rigs too, way to go.
Thanks again,
Dustin

Great job!!! Thanks, I was as proud of being the photographer (almost) as having the truck on the cover!!!

If those two brass gadgets are the one way valves, no problem. See, before I moved it, like in the above photos of mine, the pressure on the pump side of the one way valve was causing the pressure switch to cycle on and off. I placed a tee after the one way valve and ran that to the pressure switch and the storage tank and it works great.

They do give off a lot of heat. I put a big cooling fan blowing over mine...........oh, they've worked fine at least four times I depended on them.

Thanks for the answers:D. Looks like im ok with the pressure switch:waytogo:. I have a fan on each side of my box (push/pull) that move air very well. Should keep the heat level down and exhaust the battery fumes.
Thanks again Dontoe for sharing and helping.

Dontoe, how did you make that panel of power switches on the sidewall of the engine compartment and what is each power block for? Sorry for the many questions but I want to build a panel power block for an on board air, rear tailgate window, an amp, Cb and maybe one other thing.

Thanks for your help.
