I am about to order the stuff to do a doubler. I wanted to get some feedback from the guys running doubler, especially the guys running them behind 700r4's. I think I want to get it clocked 2 inches, but I am not sure if that will clear since I do not have a body lift. I wouldnt mind cutting the floor up a bit but I dont want to hack it to death.

I am not to concerned with ground clearence, I would be happy as long as it isnt any lower than my 203 currently is. I plan on making a complete skid plate for it anyways.

Does anyone know if northwest fab's cable shifters will work with an ORD doubler kit? I sent them an email about that and some other stuff about a week ago, still havent got a response. I will give them a call tommorw if the question goes unanswered.thanks

I have a doubler clocked 2" up and it seems to be about the most you can go without a body lift. On a 73+, I think Stephan mentioned there are some more clearance issue, but it's not that much with only 2" up.

Clocking 2" up, puts the 205 level with the 203 range box. Normally the 205 sits lower than the range box section.

im not running one yet but i have a chevy 203 ford 205 doubler laying in the floor clocked...its for a 700 and i got the spacer for it...i was told you would need a 2 inch body lift and some floor masaging...i plan on running a 3 so it wont matter for me...

i talked to kyle from nwf the other day and he said he has been swamped latley so you might wanna call....why not run a standard tripple stick??

I would like to run the cable shifters because I want to build I guess sort of an extension if you will off of my center console. Id like to build it the same height as the center console and mount my shifters on to that. I think would be pretty nice and make shifting a little easier. Its just something I was tossing around.

With the 2 inch spacer between the tranny and tcase, I wonder if a normal triple stick shift would be anywhere near the factory hole too.

i can tell you mine has tripple stick and i havnt used it yet but it shifts very smooth out of the truck...as far as the hole i have no idea mine has to be in the center toward the drivers side...

I'm just curious why you decided to run the ord doubler? why not the NWF? they are clockable so you can position the 205 anyway you want.
