I am swapping vehicles and ran into issues on the blazer that are diffrent than the install on the 80 k20. The rear crossmember for the doubler is about 1-2 inches too narrow to reach the frame on each side. This is on a 79 k5. The frame "flares" out just after where the 203 mount is so the frame is wider toward the rear of the frame. Has anyone else ran into this?

That is normal. Cut 1 end of the crossmember off and extend it with some angle iron. Drill new holes in the angle iron and bolt it up. There is enough movement area in the crossmember holes to allow the offset.

I helped az-k5 do this to his 1980K5 that had the same problem.

Cool thanks. The rails on the truck were straight so I didn't have that problem. I just need a temporary crossmember so I can build a double crossmember/skid plate.
