/forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif I never thought of that. Thanks, would it be worth the investment down the road? 800HP aint overkill

I hope your pockets are deep...very deep. Unless you just dump scary amounts of nitrous and fuel down the intake of a built big block, you aren't going to build 800HP for cheap. It costs roughly $10 per HP in mild applications. Most guys around here that have warmed over mild motors will probably agree with that rough figure. I spent about $3k on my 406 and am making around 300-350HP. So next you will think $8k for 800HP, sounds pretty cheap for that much power but nope. To make serious power you will need aftermarket heads, forged internal parts, big carbs, and other expensive power adders like blowers or turbos. You can figure that those ponies higher than 500HP or so will probably cost you $20-30 bucks p/HP, maybe more. Look at mudjinkie82, his blown 540 makes 1,000+HP but he has $17K in the motor, as much as I have in my whole K5. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Don't forget too that you have to feed all those horsies....You can figure on being in the gallons per mile range instead of MPG. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
You probably already know this stuff but I also know you're a little new around here so I just want to make sure you know what things cost before you get your hopes up. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
