doubler ??

yes, but why? get a np-205. there is more adpt. out there and they alot more stonger. my 203/205 doubler has never failed me yet.

the reason I ask is that I already have a rebuilt 203 in my truck, and I have another one for the range box in my garage. What would be involved?

Uhh, you would break the second '203 ;)

Seriously, I doubt the chain in the complete box would handle the new (doubled) torque input, even if new, especially under any serious wheeling. :deal:

To use an ORD doubler, the second case would have to be a TH400-style with 32-spline input.

NWF's setup requires a 31- or 32-spline input.

After you drop several hundred bucks to a grand on the adapter proper, plus several hundred more for a triple stick kit, new mounts and driveshafts, and whatever else, another coupla hundred for a '205 is well worth it . Otherwise you have a polished turd :)

It could be possible but not if it's in a blazer as the thing would be way too long and you would have very little rear driveshaft. It would also require a special intermediate shaft to be custom made with a male spline to mate into the female input shaft of the full 203 t-case.

A rebuilt 203 would easily sell for the cost of a 205 so you could then pick up a 203/205 doubler. As mentioned above using the 203/203 combo your chain isn't going to last all that long.

I'd hate to see you spend all the money on custom adaptors etc, just to have it grenade after a couple of days on the trail.

I was thinking the input of the '203 -- presuming it was a TH400-style -- would be identical a TH400-style '205, so the same adapter/intermediate shaft would work.

The logic being -- never having seen a TH400/203 combo and trying to stay that way -- that if they both bolt up to a TH400, they should be the same, right?

Anyway, it's all academic, as a 203/203 would suck, but I'm thinking out of my butt ;)
