how meny spine is ur 205 an 203? gota make sher tehy rite nummer of spine to werk wit dubblr

you could always lomax the 205 to give you a 3:1 low ratio. Still not the 4:1 you'd get with the doubler, but still a way to give you a lower crawl ratio and keep highway gears.

(or you could lomax the 205 AND do the 203/205 which would give a , 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, and a 6:1 :D

Sounds to me that a gear change is better suited for you at this time. You can do the gear swap on both axles for under $1000.00 for parts and labor assuming you can't do the gear swap yourself. The "doubler" will cost you about the same IF you have the correct spline cases in hand already. The biggest difference is that the doubler won't do anything for your lack of gearing versus tire size until you're in 4WD.

First opinion: Click this link and spend a LOT of time there http://dictionary.reference.com/

Second opinion: Be more specific about what you're going to be using the truck for. Dual transfer cases aren't cheap setups and usually require modified drive lines as well as custom cross members & shifters. If if it's a street truck then it's a waste of time & money, if you're wheeling mild stuff, then it would be overkill, otherwise, consider doing it because it's an awesome setup.

Lately i've been seeing more and more of the "pirate" antics around here.

So what if the guy spelled "dubbler" wrong. Big deal, get over it and either help him with his question or don't say anything at all. :deal:

if you're only gonna be running 35s with a th400 i'd say keep the 3.73s so you can keep you're RPMs in a reasonable range for highway and lomax the 205 for a 3:1 low. If you're planning on going to bigger tires later, then regear it. There's definitely gonna be more work for you to do a doubler, but they are very useful (and very cool). I kept my gears @ 4.10s with the 38s Im running just to keep my highway RPMs reasonable and I'm gonna lomax my 205. But, my truck's not gonna be a rock crawler (mainly), but I want a lower crawl ratio when I do go trail riding.

does your K5 have a 10B and a 12B? if so why not look for a set of tons with a set of 4.10s or 4.56s? it will cost around $1000 which is what you will spend to regear your current half ton axles as 4x4high mentioned

Don't forget the cost of news wheels (and maybe tires) if he goes that route.

i wasn't even thinking about the lug change from 6 to 8:doah: id say add another $500 to $800 for a set of wheels with good tires, maybe less if you can find a deal on some

if thats the case then unless he changes carriers the highest he could go would be 4.10s. it still depends on what hes going to use his K5 for. if he wants a lower gear ratio all around or just when hes in 4wd. with 35's 4.10s would be a good gear. ive got 4.10s in my K10 with 33's

thanks for the input its for rocks and trails sorry about the spelling i cant down load the spell check at work and if i could spell i could pay a shop to do the work for me. i have a 203 and a 205 and 60 and 14 with 3.73's mabe i should sell the axle and buy a set of 4.10 and look in to the doubler later. if i twin stick the 205 will i have 2wd low?i know how much work it will take to do a doubler most will be done even if i keep the 241.thanks for your help
