so i was gonna do a doubler then ended up doing my vortech swap. but this is my question. what combination of a doubler would be the best. i.e tranny/1st case/2nd case. this could be sm465/203/205 etc. and include applications and spline count. i see trannys, case etc all the time for dirt cheap so why not start getting parts over time. gimme some advice...even cheapest route

well i love the 4spd low gear but anything more than 10 splines are hard to find....i can pick alot up for cheap if i know what to look for and im patient so suggest away

32 spline is stronger than the 10 and 27 spline input/output shafts.

There are lots of 32 spline 465's out there (most had 208's behind them).

Only Ford 205's had a 32 spline front output, that can be a weak point on other 205's (and is an easy swap into GM or Dodge cases).

The 203/205 doubler is probably the easiest and strongest one.

Actually the Ford's all had 31 spline input's. The GM stuff used the 10,27,or 32 spline.

The TH400, and the later 465 were 32 spline. Input gears can be bought for a reasonable price...however the 32 spline input bearing on a 205 is larger than the 10 and 27 spline versions so the case itself needs to bored larger to accomodate it. Finding a 205 that was originally behind a TH400 saves a few steps.

I said that Ford had the only OEM 32 spline front output

Just bustin' your chops Rene :D
