Dovetail/taper rear body

I'm in the process of installing new rear 1/4's/bedsides on my K5 and want to dovetail them in some. I have a couple of ideas of how to do it but just wanting to see how others have done it (trick, tips, etc...).

I KNOW there have been posts previously showing details but I can't find them by searching. Anybody with any links to posts or write-ups?

Thanks for the link! I'm assuming that is your truck?

Really interested in what you did with the rear fender wells. I see that you removed them first then modified them later, just wondering exactly what you did to them?

Yup, that's my truck.

I took a "pie" cut out of them and welded them up and bolted them back up in the factory location.

Basically, I cut them into two pieces, bolted them in, trimmed and welded them up.

Nope. Originally a short bed.

I did the front & rear of my K5 last year. Here are some pictures that I took along the way. There is not a whole lot to it. I did something similar to the rear fender wells, but I did not cut them down. I was able to just bolt them back in over the bed floor.
