A woodsmith buddy of mine just finished a center console sub enclosure for me. I wanted bass that I could feel with the top off. I also wanted stealthy. This is the design that gave me the .65 cubic feet my Alpine Type R 10 wanted and was low like my stock console. No console storage to speak of but I did gain cup holders. We originally had a top storage compartment but it just looked to clunky.
Sounds good, doesn't boom outside vehicle but hits hard with Rock and gets plenty low with rap. Compares well to the two twelves in the truck of my Lumina. I would do it exactly the same if I did it over again.
Now it's off to the upholsery shop for vinyl covering. I had originally bought undercoating and interior paint, but I have decided that would not be durable enough. With lap seat belt buckles the console paint would have lasted about 3 days.
Sony Discman, soon an Ipod (didn't want to cut dash)
Kenwood KDS-P100 Digital Sound Processor (Digital EQ)
Alpine 2 channel Amp 50 x 2
Phoenix Gold bridged 300 x 1
Alpine Type R 6.5s in kick panels
Alpine Type R 10" Sub
