I have a 1990 Suburban with 5.7L. I completely tore out the dash, HVAC, & all electrical to get ready for a DIY4X dash. Now I'm reinstalling everything and I have no idea where the DRAC/VSS Buffer was originally mounted. Is it down on one of the brackets by the pedals? On the backside of the stock dash? Back of the instrument cluster? If anyone has photos of the stock location, that would be awesome.

Do you remember what the bracket is bolted to? Firewall? Backside of dash?

Whats the bracket look like? Never seen one in the R/V trucks, but the bolt holes along the lower edge of the dash sheetmetal are plentiful, and would be my guess. Probably not firewall, GM poked a bunch of holes there, but generally not for mounting the small stuff.

Mine was just hanging from the connector. But then again there is a lot of interesting prior owner wiring under the dash. I velcroed mine after modifying it for my tire size.

factory is back side of dash below radio with screw or 7mm head screw bolt in from outside to the bracket on the back side of dash .
