Can a NP205 case be drilled to fit a np241 adapter. i am putting the 205 behind a 4l80e. i just dont want to pay the outragious price for the advance adapter kit. i already have a 241 adapter and a 32 spline input. the only hang up is that the case is from a 1979 chevy that had a sm465-np205 combo. therefore it is a circle track adapter pattern. anyone have any help on this subject. also if it helps i am also going to have a ford 205 soon. for parts and all.

Thanks

I think the spline counts are different. 10 vs 32 spline. Other than that I don't see why trying to drilling and retapping the pattern you need would be a problem. I was going to do this with my 700R4 to 203...I was going to use a 241 adaptor & just redrill/tap it so it could line up.

If you use the 241 adaptor, what are you planning to fasten the 205 shifter and bolt to?

The actual adaptor for a 205 has a raised boss on it with the hole for the bolt to hold the shifter in place.
208 and 241 adaptors don't have this boss.

I am going to run a 2" spacer so that i dont have to cut the tranny output. just curious if anyone had done this of if it was even possible.
