i have a 2wd sm265 trans in my k5 and was wondering if i can drill out the yoke so that i can use the u bolt style clamps on it instead of the strap. is it possible to do it on a 14bbf or is the aftermarket yoke the only option to get the ubolt design on there

dont know for sure but NEAPCO part # 1-0099 is the 1350 series U-bolt straps. Thier parts catalog specs it as 2.something inches long in the shank and that its a "direct replacement" on k30/k20 with the 14bolt. I ordered it from ye olde local parts shop (4 bucks so no biggie if it dosent work) and am gonna give it a shot.

You can't simply drill out the threads, the u-bolt is more narrow than the holes for the straps. If you were to drill the holes out big enough for the u-bolt to work there would be nothing left on the outside of the holes.

That's what I figured the case would be. I was hopin for a quick fix to make it down to the trails this sunday. Thanks for the help guys
