Drive line angles?

I know this has probably been covered, but I did a search and still coudn't find exactly what I was looking for.
When measuring drive line angles where are you taking the measurement. I've read posts that say 8 degrees, from what? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I may be going from a block lift to a spring lift and the main thing I am concerned with is drive shaft angles.
