I was looking at something under the burb a few days ago and noticed something wrong with the DS. Here are a few pics.

I pushed it down and tightened it semi hand tight and now it is popping as I drive like it is in a bind or something.

What caused it to do this and was I correct in hand tightening it.

Sincerely,
Clueless:confused:

it's only a seal. tighten it back up. front shaft turning when not in 4wd, unless it has a np203?

If that is a stock driveshaft, it looks like the splines must be right at the top at static height. So when you drive around it is pulling up on the seal. Sometimes the splines will pull right through the seal and it's not a big problem.

The real fix is to lengthen the driveshaft or get a longer slip joint. However, I did a cheap fix for this once. Neapco makes a driveshaft seal that is one piece. If you glue that onto the top of your existing steel cap, it gives like anothe 1/2" of travel before the splines hit the seal.
