drive shaft issues

I just installed a used sm465 and np205 that i purchased used. everything seamed to be fine when checking them by hand but then the first time i started up the truck and put it in gear it clanks real bad when the truck is moving. I haven't even gotten it out of my driveway yet because i don't want to damage anything else by driving it. When the truck is parked i get about a 1/3 turn out of the drive shafts when spinning them by hand, shouldn't this be tight? does anyone know what my problem might be?

If the shaft is really turning 1/3 of a turn, it sounds like too much. You can take the shaft off and fin where the play is coming from.
