i just installed a 4" lift kit in my 88 blazer. the lift kit messed with the angle of my rear driveshaft and now it is rubbing near the rear diff. i was wondering if i should get a new, longer driveshaft or weld a section into the one i have. also what is the best way to remove a driveshaft.

You need to take the bolts out of the pinion, put a bucket under the t-case and pull the driveline out. Then take it to your local drivleline shop and have them add an inch. You should be good to go. If you continue to have vibes and are throwing u-joints....you might need a CV.

What do you mean by "rubbing"? Is the rear U joint binding? I guess I don't see a rubbing problem that would be solved with a longer shaft. Did this lift kit happen to contain tapered rear lift blocks? If so, how did you install them?

The process of lengthening a driveshaft is to get rid of the tubing that is in it now and replace that with a longer piece of tubing. Shaft lengthening is often optional with a 4" lift.

However, don't sink money into the drivelines until you have your angles correct. If you don't know your angles, go buy an angle finder ($6?) or take it to a driveline shop.

Vibrating would make sense after a lift, but why how does he know it is vibrating "near the rear diff"?

The easy way out of the vibration problem is to lower the T-case, but I still say check the angles.

I think shimming the t-case down would be an option....But he still needs a longer driveline with spicer u-joints, and/or a cv.

i think if he put some 4* shims or so in and spaced down his T case, it would be fine....but CV shaft would be nice.
