79 GMC Jimmy. 4" lift+1" body lift. D60/14BFF 7.4l/4l80e/203/205 52's in front/64's rear, sitting on 40's. Xover/ high steer. Blah blah blah.

When I put the 64's in the rear i pushed the axle back approximately 6 inches. This winter I decided to go with a four link setup and add a doubler in, which has went well. I kept the axle at the same position (6in back). Started thinking about rear driveline and omg, ride height operating angle is well over 30 degrees and over 40 full droop as best as I can tell. Coilovers are not installed yet as I have to put the body back on first cause the hoops will be up through the wheel well some. Offroad only rig.

What has everyone else been doing for driveline in such a situation? High angle driveline with CV joint? I would have to rework some of my link mounts to get the pinion pointed up enough if I went that route....grrr.

Guidance please!

I have a CV'd rear shaft in mine. Not sure it needs it just has one because it was going into a Blazer first.

Forgot to mention that my length measured around 35" at ride height and 38"+/- at droop
Short links or longer uppers? With a linked setup you should only use about 1/4” if slip. My front setup uses only 3/8”. With my 57” springs that pull a full 12” of travel I am just using super duty shaft cut down. I did rotate the pinion up.

Upper links are just under 40in
Lower links are 43.5in
Gonna be using 18" fox coilovers.

The 35 and 38 mentioned above are estimated driveline lengths.
