I have been thinking recently about some type of driveshaft hoops so when I trash a u joint I dont spike the shaft into the ground.

While watching monster jam tonight I saw a hoop that was like a cage around the shaft and it connected to the axle and up by the T Case and moved with the shaft. Seems like a good ideal. Anybody running anything like this????

The truck on Monster jam was Scarlet something. First time I had seen it.

got to have driveline hoops for most sanctioned events, one at the top one at the bottom. so no one gets killed when one lets loose.

There is nothing quite like the sound of a busted driveshaft beating the crap out of the underside of your truck as you drive down the road. :doah: :doah: :doah:

better that than losing the top joint having it stick in the ground and pole vault the truck 15' through the air......saw that once

Seems like it would take up a lot of space and get hung up. Have seen old tow straps looped around with space to flex.

This one was on my k5 when I got it. It looks good and I like how they mounted the mufflers but it gotta go it hangs down way to far and if I dont cut it off im sure it'll get tore off.

That is a nice looking piece. I am not sure why it is painted purple, but someone spent some time making it.

On race cars d-shaft loops are just flat stock. If you are going to make one think simple. Jegs & Summit sell universal kits.

What a lot of people in my club do is use 3/16" Vinyl coated cable and make a loop around the drive line and attach it to the frame or other points above the drive line. Easy to install and Cheap..
I was just thinking this weekend to post the same topic to see if anyone else is using cable.

A friend of mine wishes he had his on a few weeks ago.. We were up snow wheeling and he lost his front U joint. By the time he got it shutdown it was way to late. Drive shaft beat the heck out of the underside and took out a break line. (It was a Furd). Not fun going home on icy hilly roads with no brakes and 2 wheel drive.

Ill get some pics of mine up later this afternoon. Its simple, cheap, and strong. should be all a wheeler needs
