got an 88 k5 with 12" suspension lift. currently has 14bff and d60 and 2wd sm465. have am getting vibes close and above highway speeds and now am hearing bad ratcheting or spooling noise from detroit locker in rear it sounds like, never heard before when had 6" suspension lift. angle at axle is good, but out the trans not so much. drive shaft angle is 18 degrees. i heard 1350 yokes and joints are good to 20 degrees. main question is how much of spacer can i put to drop trans down without any problems, i have a one inch spacer in now

Sounds like you have a divorced t-case. If so, you should be able to drop it to just before the point where the intermediate shaft binds.

i do have the d t case but its not in yet thats for the future i wanted to keep it 2wd for a little to work on other things and make sure everything is running ok. i'm tired of ending up on a flat bed before i even make it to the trails

I'm running a 2wd SM465 as well. I'm actually looking into getting a 1410 output yoke for it. I would say you could drop it a bit more. It will twist at the motor mounts. Make sure the distributor is clear.
