i snapped off a bolt in the diff youk if i put a 1/4 inch bolt and nut in the youk would it throw it off balance and how do i tell if a driveshaft if off balance or bent

Probably won't be off balance enough to matter. Jack up your wheels off the ground and secure them. Put the vehicle in gear. Does the shaft wobble? Vary the speed some as well.

To see if it is bent use a 2' - 4' level to check the shaft.
