Are there any tricks to this, or what do I need to take out of the way

I recently got the truck started after sitting for 7 years. Was hearing a little clack sound from the passenger side. Tightened up the manifolds didnt help. Removed the valve cover and saw that oil wasnt coming up and it was really really nasty (sludge). So im taking out the rockers and pushrods and cleaning it all up. Having trouble taking out the driver side one.

Thanks,
Frank

You just have to wiggle it around til it comes free. Ive got A/C and my Cruise still hooked up so it was a pita, but I didnt remove any of these things. Just gotta twist it. Wear some good gloves, the bottom of the valve cover can be pretty sharp edge.

Yeah I had just gotten some gloves today, I guess its wiggle time.

thanks for the help,
Frank

Pulling the a/c compressor (if so equipped) will make it a whole lot easier and can be done without detaching any of the lines. That and the vacuum lines/breather was all I needed to get out of the way.

It's the putting it back that sucks, you get RTV on everything.
