Hi ALL! our drivers door sags about a quarter of an inch in the back ( where it closes). the door is hard to close and when i put it close to the body without closing the door you can see it is down about a quarter of an inch. i bought the whole hinge assemblies from LMC truck but i see that they are not perfect fits. the passenger side is perfect. i was wondering if this is just a hinge pin issue and i can just replace the pin after i remove the door.

i have seen that the whole fender needs to come off to replace the whole hinge. is this the case?

also i have seen a YouTube video where the guy cuts the pin when the door is removed to replace the pin due to a flare at the bottom of the pin that prevent it from being knocked out like a house door hinge.

i can post pics of it all to help you guys guide me on this.

thanks!

john

You would have to remove the fender to replace the entire hinge. Usually you only need to replace the pin and bronze bushings.

Sorry Wes..... I think I'll keep the hottie ( even if she needs a bath) and scrap the old muddy hooptie truck.....

Pins/Bushings are definitely easier. In the many years I’ve owned square bodies, I’ve NEVER had to take a fender off to replace a hinge, maybe I’ve just been Lucky. But pins/bushings ARE Much Easier. If door is just starting to miss striker -don’t wait-GET ER DONE
