Hey everyone been slowly going through my 75 K5 i just aqquired and its not perfect but then again it is nice. I opened the drivers vent window and noticed its broken at the pivot point where it goes into the door. Its a clean break and looks like its fixible. So my ? is can it be fixed/welded/??? any tricks or whatever would be helpful. Again nothing is wrong with it other than that. I know they are expensive to replace and some what a pain in the arse to replace so id like to take this route if possible. Thanks

Try a junk yard. Not sure how much they will want. Repalcement is really not that hard. If I remember only 4 screws.

Il check the junk yard when I get a chance. But do you
know if it's fixible in case I can't come across one cheap enough? Thanks

Heres a pic of where its broken. Not the best pic but as you can see right where it comes out of the weatherstripping is where the break is. Everything else on the window is good.

Not good. That will be a salvage yard part unless you want to fork over $250 for a vent window assembly.
Can it be fixed? Maybe a really good welder could, but there isn't much to work with there and you would still need to buy the missing parts.
LMC has the parts and the assembly.

Ok my next question is lmc says that the originals are no longer produced and that the vent windows from 85-91 will work just fine. If this is true I know I can score some for cheap since many were made. If anyone can confirm this that would be great. Thanks

My 85' vent window broke in the exact same spot, looked up a price on a new one and after seeing that i went to the junk yard and got one for 20 bucks off a 90" burb. Not sure if they are the same as a 75' though.
