Lately my drivers side window has been slowing down considerably while going up and down. Didn't know if any of you guys had replaced the motor in yours and was just trying to figure out where would be the best place to get a new one. Also, is it a pita to replace?

Thanks

Yes, pita to replace. Take off the door panel and lube up the tracks where the scissors arms cross first. Make sure you get the nylon wheels spinning freely. The grease gets old and dry and things stop moving. I did that and didn't have to replace the motors.

I have lubed the tracks in mine and it sped up considerably. I do plan on doing a HD relay mod in the future to get the motors some extra juice. I hear that speeds them up quite a bit!

I actually have the relay mod and they are fast, but the drivers side just started slowing down and now it is at a crawl. I'll try cleaning out the tracks and see what it does.

I just replaced the motor in mine - I posted this in another thread:
Your best bet is to look at any internal friction between the spring coils. Take the spring off and clean and lube between the coild. Get any rust out from between the coils. The rust really binds the spings when lowering the windows - that is why sometimes they go down very slow and get stuck but come up OK. Get some grease inbetween the coils then reassemble. The regulators really need to be cleaned and freed up. Clean out all the old gunky grease between the gears and hinges, flush out the rollers with WD40, then add motor oil to keep them moving free. Take the springs out and the motor off and cycle the hinges by hand to find any sticky areas. It all adds up to help the windows roll up and down better.

I found that getting the white nylon wheels moving made a much bigger improvement than lubing the tracks.
