I heard it is cheaper to shorten a driveshaft, so I am wondering if I could find a 1 ton rear driveshaft that will slide into my np 208. I have an echobit flip, and I need a new shft but I am low budget. what are my options.

There is no such thing as a 1 ton Civilian truck with an NP 208.

You can find a 3/4 ton truck with a 208 that will have 1350 joints though.

I don't have a slip yoke transfer case but my rear shaft is a stock 3/4 ton longbox shaft shortened to fit my 119" wheelbase.

I bought a rear 1 ton driveshaft from a CUCV truck for my blazer for $75. It has 1350 joints and slip for a 208 and the tube is beefy. It just needs to be shortened. I thought it was a good deal.
