I’ll soon be at the point where I need driveshafts for my k5. My setup is a 350 with a sm465 behind it and an np205 behind that. I have an old rusty front driveshaft from the rig that I got the transmission and transfer case out of, but since it was a pickup the rear driveshaft won’t work. I’ll get new front and back but I figured I’d keep the old front one just so I have the ability to move it if I have to. So my question is where’s the best place to get driveshafts? 2 piece would be great but probably not necessary. I’ve always heard of Tom woods and Adams driveshafts but this won’t be an off-road rig so maybe those would be overkill?

Tom Woods. I will be honest with you, I have a hard time ordering something like driveshafts over the phone. I blew the rear shaft to pieces in moab this year. Being new in to Tennessee, I did not know where to get one.

Tom Woods sponsorsour Blazer Bash event every year, so I figured I would give them a try. Super easy. Got what I needed 4 days later. For the same price I had been paying over the counter in Colorado.

I highly recommend them. They will ask the right questions to get you what you need.

I have two local shops that build driveshafts. If I am getting one modified, I go to them. I had one shortened a while back, and it was $150 with one new joint.
I got an all new one from Tom Woods last spring for the front of my Jimmy. It would have been more money from the local guys, even if I could have used a standard travel slip joint. The local shop told me that he would have to custom build the long travel slip. What I bought isn't a good comparison for you, except that it was cheaper through Tom Woods and I had it in days.
The guy at Tom Woods spent some time asking me questions about the truck and usage and went through options. I am happy with the results and the product. If you are keeping it stock, they will set you up, I have no doubt.

Alright you guys convinced me, Tom Woods it is. Thanks for the input, always much appreciated.

What about Jesse at High Angle Driveline? Do we not support him any more? I’m sure he could use the business after losing everything in the Paradise fire, even after this long.
