driveshaft ????\'s

I am finally finishing the install of the 12" lift and the 14FF install at the same time.

I have a questions regarding the drivehshaft slider at the transfer case.

Is it too far out in the picture below?

If I were to get a new driveshaft, how does it get measured from u-joint to u-joint, and how far in or out show the yoke be when measuring for the new driveshaft?
Thanks for the help.

Re: driveshaft ????\'s

That looks a little far out but it could be ok, I don't know for sure. As for the measure, ask the driveshaft shop you get one from. They will tell you exactly how to measure it. Some shops measure from different places I have heard.

Make sure when you measure it that you have the full weight of the truck on the suspension so it will be at ride height.

If that is a factory slip spline then its too short. I think on those they measure from the face of the output to the center of the ujoint cup on the pinion.

Yep, too short. You can supposedly operate with 60% of the slip yoke in the transfer case. I just had my driveshaft lengthened 2" because I had less than 50%.
