I'm swapping out my 350 motor and th350 tranny with a 5.3 and a 4L60E from a 03 gmc. I'm going to stay with the 205 tcase. Would I have to modify or change out the driveshafts

Yes. The 4l60 is longer by like 3 inches or something to that effect, therefore your t- case will be pushed back about 3" also.

You better check if Advance Adapters sell a t-case adapter to go from the 6 bolt 4L60E to a 205.

That should be the same bolt pattern that the 700r4 uses right Scott? If so, there shouldn't be any need for an adaptor other than what is required to use the 700r4 in front of the 205.

In 1996 GM changed from the 4bolt tailhousing to the 6bolt style. That is when the three piece case started. The input shaft tip also changed. The spline count (30) remained the same as did the diameter. But, this style requires its own style torque converter.

I see, didn't know that. So if I want to run the 4l60e I need to get one pre-96 with the 4 bolt tailhousing.
