I've been trying to find a longer rear shaft for my k5. I've got 6 inches of lift now, and might be adding a couple more in the near future. I'm running the stock shaft (ft and rr) and can tell that I'm really really close to being too short as it is. Where can I find a longer shaft for a decent price? And what about the front shaft? Should i be looking at getting one of them too??

just find a longer shaft from a short bed truck for the rear or have a long bed one cut down with your yokes. the front is where your gonna have problems. do you already have your cv joint clearanced? your gonna have angle problems.

I've said it before and had a lot of guys disagree but I'll say it again... for the rear just have a custom one made at a local driveline shop... I had mine made for less than $100 and it is all 1350's (I have a 1350 slipyoke on my NP208...you might want to do that too)...
The front is where you can spend a lot of $$$ but I just use a superlift d-shaft spacer...they're cheap and work (I'm using the stock front d-shaft in my k10 with 8" of lift and the Superlift spacer)...

in my neck o the woods basic shafts are 200 plus, you might be in good shape lenghtwise with chev84 shaft but you would need a queer conversion joint.

if you can find a truck being parted out or CVed you can get one cheap. ive got a cv one needing a new socket that would fit well, its about 31 inches yoke to yoke. ~7 inch lift.
