I have recently found myself in posession of a bunch of drivetrain parts and would like to swap them around in the different vehicles. Here is what I have...

77 3/4 ton parts truck with no motor/bellhousing, sm465/np205

79 blazer trail rig with TH350/np203

86 blazer daily driver with sm465/np208

What I would like to do is take the 465/np205 combo from the 3/4 ton and put it in my trail rig using the bellhousing and hydro clutch from the 86

Replace the sm465 in the 86 with the TH350 from the 79 since the wife cannot drive stick but I would like to keep the 208 in it. Can the TH350 that was mated to a 203 connect to a 208? Would I need any adapters? I don't want to put the 203 in the dd and eventually plan on a doubler in the trail rig using the 203 and 205.

The TH350/203 combo uses a different length output shaft than the TH350/208 combo would use. Also the 208 that is connected to your 465 will have a 32 spline input gear instead of the 27 spline that you would need for the TH350 . The adapters are different too .

The bell housing and related parts from your 1986 K5 will go right on the K20 and its original 465/205 combo .
Your problem is trying to combine the TH350 that was on the 203 to the 208 that was connected to the 465.
I hope I stated all this fairly clearly ???? If not please let me know and I will get more specific . Tom

So my best bet would be to try and find a 205 or 208 that came from a vehicle with a th350 for my 86.

or much easier to find, an NP208 from behind a 700R4(27 spline as well). I have one just sitting next to my K5 if you would be interested.

If it will mate up to my TH350 then yes I'd be interested. You can shoot me an e-mail with info at [email protected] with any necessary information.

can anyone answer this? I know splines and bolt pattern wise it would bolt to the 350 but what about output shaft length? I don't know and I'm not going to claim I do to get rid of it.
