How hard is it to do with the bed on?

My tank is leaking like crazy. I have cutting to do on the truck and prefer not to engulf myself and the truck in flames.

I can see six bolts on the inside of the frame rail that look like the go into the brackets holding the tank.

Obviously I have to unhook the hoses from the sending unit and the filler neck and the wire for the fuel gauge.

Strap it to the floor jack with a piece of wood under it.

After those 2 brackets are loose, it's all hoses

Yep it's the only way I've dropped my tanks as my bed is not removable (long story).

The passenger side is a bit trickier because the tank selector valve is near a couple of the bolts.

not fair if it was empty
It didn't have too much fuel in it. I put $25 worth of gas in it and drove maybe 5 miles. It felt like there was maybe a half of a gallon sloshing around in there when I pulled it, that how bad it was leaking.

sounds like it left a nice trail of gas as you drove around.
