i heard from some people that dropping your front spring mounts down is as stupid as putting blocks in the front of ur truck, but on sky manufacturing, if im reading it right, theres a kit made just to do that, and it moves your front shackles to under your frame instead of going through the middle.it comes with a full crossmember for the front and shackle re-locator kit. anyone hear of this before?

thats essentially what I did with mine, except I kept the front hangers in tight for better aproach angles, my shackles are under the frame

Are you doing a SAS on a later model truck or are you looking for more lift? -Eric

i have an 89 k5,i want a little more lift, and the rear i can do shackle flips and stuff to get it up, but the front doesnt have many options, and i dont want smiley face springs,i actually found this by accident, is this a true/safe way?

Just doing some searching on this as well, Shaun89 did you ever get an aswer on this?? If you go to www.skymanufacturing.com, click on chevy, and scoll to the bottom of the page they have 68-88 4.5 front perch drop kit. I have some pretty tall springs and I want to get more flex out of my truck. I thought adding this 4.5 drop down and some shorter springs would be a good option to keep my ride height, but give me more flex and a better ride. And if I'm only dropping the front of the spring the Pinon angle should actually get better. But I dont know who has done this??? Pros and Cons anybody. Ive searched it out...

ya, im wondering about the shackle position, seems rough on the frame, i havent actually heard of anyone putting these on either....i guess ill keep looking...

I don't know, thought it might strenthen the frame like a crossmember. It would defiantly have to be welded and bolted. I know Sky makes HD stuff. I just havnt heard of anybody using this kit???

rotating your front like that messes w/ caster &or camber..ie alignment....its built in to the inner C's ...iirc

ya, i was thinking that, but i think they made it so it lowers the shackle mount and the front mount even, so it would push it straight down, with no caster issues....i hope....

Im not sure on that??? I will give them a call see whats up.

Just called Sky Manu. it comes with longer/ HD greasable rear shackles. He says it basically pushes what ever axle set up you got straight down, no caster issues. Still wondering if anybody has actually used this kit???? Sounds pretty good, and he does make good products.
