Hey guys, this seems like a noob question but I am doing the brakes in my blazer.. I havent touched the drums in years and years, but with the mods on it i do not have a e-brakes hooked up. My question, do i need to keep the bar that is directly below the wheel cylinder?

From my understanding it is only there for the Ebrake not crushing in on the cylinder.. or am i mistaken? Thanks!

Do you need it? No. Would I leave it there n case you ever want a parking brake? Yes.

You need some axle seals. Dang.

Yeah, this isnt even a picture from my truck.. my truck you cannot even see anything inside the drum the seal was leaking so bad.

My 14b was like that too when I got it. Except it was mud. I converted it to disk cheaper than fixing the drums.

Tangentially, I recommend SKF #28554, as sold locally for later-model 14BFF's or by ORD as their magic two-part seal.
