What rear will match up width wize to a DRW 60 front? Van 14b, d70, d80? I'm goin up 12"+ and was thinking that it may not be a bad idea to have a wider stance.

Thanks

D70HD out of fleetside trucks. These are the regular beds with the wider fiberglass fenders that stick out a bit.

found mainly in Fords? Comparable in strenght to 14-bolt?

If I do decide to go SRW the hubs on a 60 rear I have will swap right in?

No, GM's ran them '73 on up. These rears are HUGE. Tubes are 4" diameter. They are WIDE. Stronger than 14FF's by quite a bit but not much as both are pretty comparable.

If you have a DRW D60 front, leave it alone and find the D70HD. The rear will be about 2" narrower than the DRW D60.

so its probably a good idea to widen the stance if I have 24" springs on the way from carrier.

Should be interesting i'll go anywhere but the rocks.

24" springs?!?!?! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1:

This I'd like to see pics of.

And yes, it would be generally a good idea to go wider but I'm not sure about going as wide as the DRW axles are.

Have you got your rims yet? If not, try to find some with maybe a 5" or 6" backspacing to use on DRW axles. This way they're not sticking waaaaaay out there.

You could always get custom made rims with recentered Hummers.

I have a 15x14 Weld Racing Super Single II rim with a 6" backspacing to sell. Its brand spanking new, never mounted. Thing is, you need to find three more. I don't know if Weld makes them anymore. This rim would work perfectly on DRW axles to keep the stance at more like the SRW width.
