I am trying to tune an 88 tbi setup to work on a mild 350 that has old truck heads with big valves, RV cam, edelbrock performer intake with tbi adapter plate. I dont want to pay for a chip since I will probably build a megasquirt for it this winter. I have built two adjustable voltage regulators that feed the map sensor depending on the position of the throttle linkage. One works for idle while the other is for off idle and up. Can somebody with a stock setup tell me what the map sensor reading on windaldl is at idle? I will adjust my map at idle to match this value. My plans for adjusting my WOT fuel mixture is to borrow my friends wideband 02 and adjust the second regulater to get a slightly rich mixture under full load. Will I be able to run the truck without the narrow band input to the computer while I do this? since I only have one bung for the 02, I wont be able to use both at the same time, and from 60% throttle and up the 02 is open loop. Has anybody else tried to tune TBI like this?
