Dual batteries with isolator and 1 alternator

Well, i can answer this one. Some of the trucks had duals from the factory, so you can get factory mounts. Or you can get a dual tray from someone like wrangler power products. Or fab up a mount. I forget if the stock blazer one is on teh passenger side or drivers side, but there were factory trays for each side for the dual setup. So basically, if you want to fab a mount, right behind the grill opposite the stock one would work fine.

Another possible option are the CUCV battery trays. Never seen if they have 2 or 4 batteries, but the trays are huge. Could nearly fit 2 Optimas on one tray, and those trucks have two trays.

I don't have to battery charger to charge the battery once i run it down, is there a way to charge it off my truck with jumper cables? What im thinking is like charge it while my truck is idleing, and hook it up to the other battery to charge the same way as i would with an isolator. Does this make sense? If i remember correctly, i would just need to connect the dead battery to mine in parallel with the jumper cables?

Can anyone confirm this? or am i just going crazy?

Thanks guys!

That will work, but make sure the connections are good, + to + and - to -. You dont want one of the clamps popping off. Its just not the most stable or safest way to charge it up. Definately temporary.
