Anyone running them? Anyone who is, did you mount them in your spare tire well? Seems like a GREAT place to keep them fairly out of the way.. How'd ya do it?

I don't have dual batteries yet, but one day maybe. Wouldn't putting a battery in the passenger compartment be dangerous though? IIRC, years ago I remember someone saying that batteries give out a gas or fumes or something like that. Never seen it myself though.

Anyway, why not get a diesel battery tray for the drivers side of the engine bay and run it there? It'd sure make wiring it all up a lot easier.

Why not just put it on the same spot on the other fender??? Just make a holder for it. Seems like the best idea to me

why not just pick up a passenger side bat holder off a diesel in your local salvage yard thats how i did mine on my burb dual optimas i think i paid 20 for it drilled one hole and mounted right up

I always thought the spare tire well would be a good place for dual optimas. Just fab up a lid to cover them and vent it out through the floor or something.

I think that's the plan. I should have a little wire feed soon, so I will build a battery tray and box. I don't want them under the hood, because once I go 6bt, I will need all the help with weight that I can get.

I can't see myself putting any money into a sbc for a 6200lb truck, and I can make plenty of power from a manual cummins... and there's a couple on sale on CL here, one for 1750$ with 100hp injectors and the newer hxd35 turbo...

damn! they're hard to come by under $3k around here. i'm not sure what kinda DMV **** i'd have to deal with by converting my sub to diesel either.

none of that bs to worry about here. hell they don't even compare vins when they pull you over

they don't do that here either, but registering/smog testing is what i'd be worried about. well that and i can't afford a $3000 engine...

neither can I. Luckily I am in the industry deep enough to score crap all the time lol

yeah i bet, my Matco dealer just picked up a SIG 1911 .45 to settle a $300 debt, lucky bastard.

so, any word on a dual battery tray for the spare well?

haven't been working on it, it's too fookin hot. i pulled the dash trim off to replace the fuel gauge 2 weeks ago, and still haven't changed the gauge, i have to hold the radio in place over bumps so it doesn't fall out... lazy
