Ok, so there are 1000 threads about dual front shocks, and no pictures!

Anyone have a picture of the upper and lower mount for the factory dual shocks?

Trying to work through a lack of off the shelf shock options, and seeing what it would take to possibly try out a dual front shock setup.

Anyone have pics?

I don't have pics but I do have NOS brackets that I bought way back in like '90 or '91.

And no, not for sale either. :doah::D

It is cold and ****ty out here, but I could go snap a picture.

Thats weird to see the lower shocks mounted like that. Generally the spacer should be in the shock mount itself with the shocks mounted outboard of the mount on each side. Makes the leverage equal between the shear forces.

That's exactly how they are mounted on my stock 86 and were on my 88 and 91 before I changed them. Where did you get that information?

That's the only way I've ever seen it done, and I have multiple vehicles with the dual shock setup.

Thats perfect, thanks man!

So, it looks like the single shock uses the rear most upper mount, and basically piggybacks on the lower mount.

Anyone have an extra stock front shock mount (the location directly over the axle)?

Like you, the method I quoted was the way I saw several of them in person thru the years.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the ones I saw were on earlier 80's trucks like '83, '84, etc.

I may. I'll have to check my "tree line".

There is a picture of the shocks mounted the other way on the bottom. I had never seen them that way till now.

Yep, thats the way I've been used to seeing them. You can see how much "stronger" this way would be.
