I can't figure this out, my hi-beam and low-beam just seems to "change place" when switching from hi to low beams. Shouldn't the lower lights go dark on low beams? And all four go on when in hi-beams?
This is what I get when switching over :

I'm not sure how they work on your year rig but on my 89 blazer only one set of lights are lit at a time. I did install the four headlight relay kit so that now when i hit the hi beams ALL lights are lit.

Problem "started" when I put in a "new" headlight wiring harness, before that I don't know. Just bought the truck a year ago, and been working on it ever since, lights was not working when i got it.

The headlight switch is brand new :)

Sounds like a short somewhere. Not sure what year your truck is but you should have 3 wire colors, green, tan, and black. Obviously black is ground. Tan is 12 volts to low beams when switch is in low position. Green is 12 volts to low beam and high beam when switch is in high position. Check for 12 volts on the green wire on the high beam when in high position and trace it back till you find the short. If you have an old switch, swap it out just for giggles to rule it out. On my 83 the high current for the lights actually goes through the switch in the dash. I used a couple of relays to run current right off the battery. Now the switch is only used to ground the relays. I went from 11.43 volts at the light to 14.4 volts after the mod. BIG difference in light output.

I think I got it :

All I did was changing the posision of the Tan and Green wire on the light bulb connectors. Beats me, maybe there are some differences on the US version of H4 bulbs, and the European ones?
