Dual shock setup?

My Blazer has the mounts for dual shocks up front but when I bought it there were no shocks at all :eek1:

Well, new ones were in boxes. Part #s make it appear that I have 4 rear shocks and 2 fronts :dunno:


But anyway, I did not see how they were mounted and google searched looking for pics and could not find any.

How are they supposed to be mounted on the bottom? I don't think I have any of the correct hardware either.

Anyone have pics that are not stored on this site? I can't open pics stored here.

The front has 2 on each side, 2 different lengths.
One bolt through both as already mentioned.
The rear has one each side.
I will get back to my suburban and let you know which one goes where
 
Is it possible that a Skyjacker H7071 (front) goes in the normal position and an H7073 (rear) goes in the extra position?

Also, my Skyjcker 7220 dual steering stabilizer bracket won't fit on the D60 axle. It hits the center and the old stabilizer bracket
 
Also does anyone know how long the lower bolt needs to be and is there a spacer? These shocks are pretty fat and will touch each other w/o a spacer
 
Why not call Skyjacker? Tech can tell you which ones go where and if you have the right items.
 
Skyjacker says I have 2 of the wrong shocks.

Anyone need a set of brand new H7073 shocks? I'll trade for some H7060s
 
Usually when anybody asks about dual front shocks on here they're told to skip it and run 1 good shock at each corner. So if it looks like you'll be buying more shocks anyway, look into this.

Seems like 1/2 the people like dual shocks and 1/2 hate them. I have a D60 with 35s up front so there will be more unsprung weight than with a 10 bolt.

I will run it with singles for now since that is what I have installed now
 
Just buy one good quality shock per corner , dual shock was a bandaid fix for the piss poor shocks they had at that time.
 
Yep run a single shock. I run the longer shock in the shorter position. Allows more travel

The only reason these were ever dual-shock is that, back in the day, you ran 1 set that was good on compression, and 1 set that was good on rebound. This was just the technology of the day...no one made a shock that was good on both directions.

Given today's technology, the dual-shock setup is worthless. I would suggest converting to single-shock and ditch the massively outdated technology that is dual-shock.
 
I found a pic but on mine it looks like that inside shock will be really close to the spring
